Højbro Square, Copenhagen, Denmark (by BumbyFoto)

i absolutely love it so so so much. it really is the most amazing place in the world. i'm so sad i only have a limited time here, i have to try and live here one day. any recommendations for things to see and do, or quirky shops and cafes? i've explored the entire city but now want to explore the nooks and crannies.

There are so many awesome places to go.  For shopping I would suggest Flying A Vintage and check out Studenterhuset’s flea market that they have once a month on weekends.  For food, Cafe Paludan is really good, but so is Hache gourmet burgers.  The best pastries are at Sankt Peder’s Bakery.  Cafes and places for coffee are really hard to find in Copenhagen but Cafe Paludan was always really nice. For bars, well more like pubs, you should try BrewPub and Mikkeler.  If you haven’t been to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art I would suggest going there.  There’s really just too many places to go and see in Copenhagen.  I can’t wait to go back some day.

Most Americans Want a Walkable Neighborhood, Not a Big House

The symbol of American success often involves having the biggest house possible, but our outsized fantasies seem to be shifting. It turns out most of us value nearby stores and parks rather than McMansions. Luckily, that’s probably where we’re headed.

The US ranks 47 on Reporters Without Borders’ World Press Freedom Index

Coming in at the top two spots are Finland and Norway.

Coming just before the US: Tawain, Comoros and South Korea.

Just after: Argentina, Romania and Latvia.

The United States (47th) also owed its fall of 27 places to the many arrests of journalist covering Occupy Wall Street protests.

America, land of the dreams.  Sarcasm.

Copenhagen, Denmark

(by Julia Dávila Lampe)

I think about the days when I would walk this street and the others around Copenhagen.  I think about my family and going back every single day.

This is my life as a college student in Charleston, and all of the adventures that follow. I am currently studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark and adventuring all through Europe.
